Imee Marcos to PET head revisors following Pansol incident: “Resign”

(Eagle News)–Head revisors of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal have been asked to resign following their controversial June 22 outing with at least one revisor from the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo.

In a statement, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, sister of former Senator Bongbong Marcos whose electoral protest against Robredo was the reason behind the PET’s ongoing manual recount, said the tribunal personnel should step down for fraternizing with the other camp.

“…What they did is an affront to the independence of the election protest process and to the judiciary,” she said.

According to the governor, if the Marcos camp had known about the outing as claimed by Robredo, they would not have made a big issue about it.

She said the other camp’s claim that the Marcos camp even sent food to the outing as proof it knew about it was “laughable.”

“No amount of media spin can hide the fact that PET and Leni’s revisors had an overnight swimming party in Pansol, Laguna. Everything else is a non-issue,” she said.

The Ilocos Norte governor made the statement after the plea of her brother for an inquiry to be conducted into the incident was junked by the PET.

In junking the former senator’s plea, the PET said it had already investigated the incident.
