ALABAMA – (Eagle News Service) The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) or Church of Christ reached another milestone in its impressive history by purchasing a house of worship in the town of Huntsville, Alabama. This marks the first-ever chapel of the INC in this southeastern state of the United States.

The INC continues to grow rapidly in this region of the U.S. and it is no different in Alabama.

Although there is already a congregation in Huntsville, the members were only renting a suite at the Miller Plaza located at 8006 Old Madison Pike. Desiring a more permanent place to hold their worship and other activities, INC members were constantly searching for a place that they could call home for their congregation. The need to find not only a permanent but also a larger place was becoming more urgent with the growing number of people joining the Church.

The congregation’s search finally ended when they found the First Free Will Baptist Church closing down.

INC members Richard and Joseth Soterio worked with the First Free Will Baptist Church to acquire the compound. The new INC house of worship is on 3.18 acres of land and was purchased for approximately $246,500.

Soon after the purchase, INC members held an activity called “Welcome My Brethren”– an opportunity for the INC members and the community to get to know each other. A tour of the chapel was available to all who were interested.

Iglesia Ni Cristo members in Huntsville invite the community to an Evangelical Mission on May 19th, 2017 at 7:30pm.
