Las Vegas, USA (Eagle News) — An eye massager, a “smart” brush that tells you if you’re brushing your hair the right way, a scanner that checks nutritional content of food, and “sleep lamps” that can lure you to sleep or wakefulness depending on the time of day.

These are just some of the health and wellness products that the Eagle Broadcasting Corporation’s Las Vegas Bureau has tracked down.  And the featured items are all new and improved technology that can help people to be more in tune with their bodies and help improve their health.

As expected, the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show was the perfect place to showcase several health and wellness-related products. From a smart brush that could tell you if you were brushing your hair too strongly, to pregnancy tracking wearables, to the Happiest Baby Bassinet that gently rocks your baby to sleep while ensuring baby’s safety, are only a few of the ground-breaking products featured at this global innovation event.

If clean eating or tracking calories is your thing, you’ll be happy to know, life is about to get much easier.  Terraillon, a European leader in personal and nutritional scales and overall wellness market, featured NeutriSmart Kitchen Scale. In addition to showing the number of calories of any food product like dairy, meat, fruits and vegetables, it also gives you a breakdown of its nutritional content like protein.

Since studies have shown that there is a relationship between weight and sleep patterns, many companies have invested in technologies that monitor sleep and assist in making sure you get a good night’s slumber.

Popular this year, were sleep lamps, that gently lured you to sleep or wakefulness, or monitored things like your heart rate, the room temperature, noise level and humidity like the Homni from Terraillon.

I’m going to generate a lot of data then I can share this data with my doctor and understand why I’m under stress or why am not sleeping well, explained Deidre Bolle, Terrailon’s CEO, when asked why this product was developed.

Data analysis can then help improve the quality of sleep, he added.

There was something for everything including an eye massager that helps release stress and tension from constant eye straining in this age of technology.  Jojo Song of Acumed Source, Inc., said that it was designed using the concept of acupuncture with infrared heat that can improve circulation.

I wore it for the recommended 10 minutes. It was an enjoyable experience and my eyes didn’t feel as dry.

To end our hunt for health-related technology, we found the TempTraq, a Bluetooth wearable monitor in the form of a soft, comfortable patch.

Parents will be able to monitor the baby’s temperature from the secure app so there’s no need for parents to disturb sleeping kids.  TempTraq will also send alerts to indicate when the temperature has reached or surpassed a user-set level.

The app also allows you to track when a patient eats, drinks or takes medicine which you can then, forward such information to caregivers. Having access to such information and care as needed easily can give parents and loved ones, peace of mind.
