Giving emergency powers to President Duterte can help solve traffic problem, says Andanar

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said that President Rodrigo Duterte should be granted emergency powers to solve the traffic situation in the country.

Andanar said that granting emergency powers to President Duterte, especially this coming holiday season, will help solve the traffic problem in Metro Manila.

Under Senate Bill No. 11 or the Transportation Crisis Act of 2016, the President will be given the power to solve the traffic problem, together with the Department of Transportation (DoTr), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
