Former NBI official tagged as owner of land on which Catanduanes shabu lab stood surrenders

(Eagle News) –A former National Bureau of Investigation official who was tagged as the owner of the property where a shabu laboratory in Catanduanes once stood has surrendered.

The NBI said Atty. Augusto Eric Isidoro, who was the director of the NBI Central Mindanao Regional Office, is now under its custody in the main headquarters in Manila after his voluntary surrender on March 20, 2018.

The NBI said the Fifth Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Virac had issued a warrant for the arrest of the former NBI official.

According to the NBI, Isidoro has undergone booking procedures and has been “endorsed” to the NBI jail pending the issuance by the court of a commitment order.

The shabu laboratory in Virac sat on a 1000-square-meter property that was part of a 400,000-square-meter estate.

Authorities have said it was probably the biggest in the country at that time.

The lab was dismantled in November 2016.
