Fifth Dengvaxia-related complaint filed vs former President Aquino

Garin, Abad, among those charged

(Eagle News)–A fifth complaint has been filed against former President Benigno Aquino III in connection with the Dengavaxia mess.

Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio led the filing of the complaint for plunder, violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and for malversation of funds in the Ombudsman against Aquino, under whose term the Dengvaxia vaccination program was implemented.

Also named respondents were former Budget and Management secretary Florencio Abad, former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Philippine Children’s Medical Center director Dr. Julius Lecciones, former Department of Health chief Janette Garin, and other former and current DOH officials.

Earlier, former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority chief Augusto Syjuco filed a plunder complaint against Aquino and several others.

The complaints are apart from the ones Aquino and several others are facing in the Department of Justice and the Commission on Elections.
