(Eagle News) — With Vice-President Leni Robredo on the receiving end of a possible impeachment complaint filed against her, her camp claims she is ready to face this and tried to dispute the claim that she is “in a hurry” to claim the presidency.

Hernandez said Robredo is also not rushing to be the President, as what President Rodrigo Duterte had said.

President Duterte said he does not want to be involved in politics, but commented during his speech before the Filipino community in Myanmar, that Robredo seemed to be in a hurry to be the President.

Si Leni, apurado masyado maging presidente,” he said, drawing laughs from the Filipino community composed mostly of professionals, who met him in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

Robredo’s video message sent to a side event of the United Nations (UN) in Vienna, Austria is now seen as a possible betrayal of public trust by her critics.

Robredo’s spokesperson, Hernandez, claimed her boss was ready to face the impeachment complaint which was first floated by House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.

But she said that there was no clear basis for this as of yet.

Robredo had constantly criticized President Duterte and his policies even when she was still a member of his cabinet as housing chief.
