Senator De Lima’s arrest will not affect the Senate’s work

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Senate President Koko Pimentel said that the arrest of Senator Leila De Lima will not affect the work of the Senate, adding that it will be business as usual for the Senate.

Pimentel also said that the law enforcers – in the conduct of the arrest and service of warrant – should respect the Senate as an institution.

Senator Leila De Lima is facing drug charges for her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trafficking inside the New Bilibid Prison when she is still the Department of Justice secretary.
