Pagasa: Dry season just around the corner

(Eagle News) — The weather in the coming weeks will become warmer and drier, which would signify the start of the dry season.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration made the announcement on Wednesday, with the termination of the northeast monsoon that affected northern and central Luzon in the last few days.

“However, some isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon or evening particularly over the eastern sections due to localized convection,” it said.

It added Mindanao will experience “scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the northward migration of the Intertropical Convergence Zone or passage of easterly waves.”

“Moderate to occasionally  rough coastal waters particularly over the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas will occur due to moderate to (a) strong easterly wind,” Pagasa added.
