MMDA issues traffic re-routing scheme for ASEAN Summit

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the Association of South East Asian Nations Secretariat have issued a traffic re-routing scheme to be implemented from April 26 to 29 in certain parts of Pasay City and Makati City.

“Expect heavy traffic and take alternate routes,” the bodies said.

Based on an advisory, the traffic re-routing will be implemented along Sen. W Diokno Boulevard, Jalandoni St., V. Sotto St., Bukanes St., anf A. Dela Rama St., in Pasay.

Traffic congestion will be also experienced along Arnaiz Avenue and Makati Avenue in Makati.

Several roads were designated as ASEAN lanes while the whole CCP complex was declared as an “ASEAN Delegates Only” zone. The MMDA advises motorists to take alternative routes.

The Philippines will host the 30th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.

The theme for the Philippine chairmanship of ASEAN is: “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World.”
