Abella reveals gov’t plans to construct two bridges in Metro Manila with help from China

(Eagle News) — Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella on Thursday revealed plans for the “design and construction” of two bridges in Metro Manila.

In a briefing in Malacanang, Abella said the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Embassy of China in the country signed on Wednesday the “minutes of discussion covering full financial grant for the design and construction of the Binondo and Intramuros, and Estrella-Pantaleon bridges.”

Based on an initial design, the bridge in the city of Manila, he said, will have four lanes, with a total of 807 meters.

The one straddling Makati and Mandaluyong, he said, will also have four lanes.

It was unclear when the projects would be started, and when they would be completed.
