FDA warns public against unregistered food products

(Eagle News) — The Food and Drug Administration has warned the public against the purchase and consumption of unregistered food products in the market.
Based on the FDA Advisory No. 2019-008, the public has been warned against five food products present in the market.

The FDA said that the unregistered products were Not Fried Baked Snack (in green box), noodles in purple packaging, chips (in red packaging), Wei Lih Meh noodles and anchovies in soy sauce.

The agency said the above-mentioned food products have not gone through the registration process of the agency and have not been issued the proper authorization in the form of Certificate of Product Registration in line with the Republic Act No. 9711 or the FDA Act of 2009.

The FDA also added that since the unregistered food products have not gone through evaluation and testing process of the FDA, the agency cannot guarantee their quality and safety.

The consumption of such products may also pose potential health hazard to the public.
