Evacuees in Albay now more than 38,000

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — There are now 38, 305 evacuees  who have fled their homes in Albay due to threat of volcanic eruptions, according to the Albay Philippine National Police .

The evacuees came from 39 barangays, 3 cities and 5 municipalities.

The Albay PNP said that it is prepared for any situation and has deployed personnel in evacuation centers and choke points in the region.

Albay PNP also reported that police have been deployed to the towns of Guinobatan, Camalig, Malilipot, Daraga, Ligao City, Tabaco City, and to Legazpi City for monitoring.

Albay on Tuesday, January 16 was placed under a state of calamity due to the threat of a hazardous eruption.
