LOS ANGELES, United States (Reuters) — The Cannes film festival announced on Tuesday (April 25) its full line-up for the jury which presides over the main competition at France’s most famous cinema event.

Although Spanish director Pedro Almodovar was announced as President of the Jury at the end of January, the additional eight were formally unveiled as four women and four men from the international film industry.

From Hollywood, actors Will Smith and Jessica Chastain will be walking the red carpet nightly to watch the films in competition. Also joining them will be the Oscar-nominated German director of ‘Toni Erdmann’ Maren Ade, actress and Cannes red carpet regular Fan Bingbing, South Korean ‘Oldboy’ director Park Chan-wook, and Italian film maker and ‘The Great Beauty’ director Paolo Sorrentinto.

Bringing in a musical touch to the jury are French writer, singer, actress and director Agnes Jaoui and Oscar-winning Lebanese composer Gabriel Yared.

The Cannes film festival will begin on May 17 with the winner of the prestigious Palme D’Or looking set to be announced on May 28.
