Edifying the SoCal youth through worthwhile activities

A UNITED STATES president once said that “Children are our most valuable resource.” That saying rings true in the realm of God’s nation in these last days since the youth are sometimes referred to as the future of the Church. It is no wonder why the Church Administration through the leadership of Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, never ceases to formulate and create meaningful activities that will serve in instilling religious values and cultivate positive morals in the minds and hearts of the children in the Church Of Christ.

One of these Christian Family Organizations (CFO) endeavors is the “Children’s Worship Service (CWS) and Binhi Arts and Crafts Fair” that was held in the district of Southern California on Saturday and Sunday, January 23 and 24, 2016, respectively. This undertaking geared towards strengthening the faith and enriching the Christian minds of the young ones in the Church was conducted in every local congregation of the district and supervised by the Church Officers in the CWS and Binhi organizations.

The parents eagerly brought their children to different venues throughout Southern California to participate in constructing various artworks such as painting, drawing, collages, and murals while others took part in creating sculptures, miniature model houses of worship, and the like as a form of expressing their young and solid faith.

CWS Chairperson, Sister Jenny Capuno, from Temecula Valley enthusiastically said, “The youth have an opportunity to convey what their faith means to them by means of artwork or building small-scale figures or models that represent their ideas. In our local congregation, we focused on the theme of being one with our Executive Minister since we are commemorating our 2nd anniversary of the dedication of our house of worship which was officiated by our most beloved Brother Eduardo V. Manalo on January 25, 2014.”

As the children spent the whole morning and afternoon in this worthwhile occasion, they benefitted through admonitions relayed to them by their respective resident ministers and CFO officers regarding the noble purpose of this activity. Members of the CWS were able to display their works of art and also allowed to take them home to proudly show to their parents and siblings.

While the Church continues to triumph as each member remain in solidarity, it was not only pieces of art and sculpture that were molded this weekend, but most of all, the faith of God’s little children in the Church Of Christ.
