LONDON, England (Reuters) — Singer Ed Sheeran said he was “a bit bruised and broken” on Wednesday (October 18), after a bike accident which left him with a broken, wrist, elbow and rib and which meant the cancellation of shows on the Asia leg of his tour.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Q Awards in London, the singer did not give details about how the accident happened, but said the cancellation of any future shows was “up to (my) manager and agent.”
In a post on Instagram, the singer said he is “unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future” and dates in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong have been affected so far.
Asked if he thought sexual abuse was a problem in the music industry as well as in Hollywood, he said: “I personally haven’t come across it. I was just saying to ITV I have a very very small circle so I don’t really deal with many people but I think it’s definitely a thing that happens in both industries, I just haven’t come across it.”
Sheeran is nominated for Q Awards for best Live Act, Track, Solo Artist and Act.
The ceremony is held annually, run by Britain’s Q magazine, celebrating musical talent.
