(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday, May 19, said he would fire five other government officials.
While he did not say who these were, he said one of them had asked the help of the presidential sister for a project.
“Sabi ko, ‘tanggalin mo.’ Sabi ko, ‘fire him out.’ His violation? He violated my order na pagka ako ang minention or talking to my relatives, even on a conversation about a project only, t***, sisipain talaga kita,” he said.
He said on Friday, he also asked a fraternity brother to step down.
President Duterte has fired government officials for alleged corruption.
Then-Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno was fired over an allegedly anomalous firetruck deal, Budget Undersecretary Gertrudo De Leon over corruption allegations, among others.
