Duterte threatens to fire managers, police personnel assigned to Clark airport, NAIA

“A similar incident (of opened luggage) and all of you go,” he says

(Eagle News) — One more incident and you’re all out.

President Rodrigo Duterte said this was what he said in a meeting with managers and policemen assigned to the Clark International Airport and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Thursday.

Duterte said that the meeting, which was attended by Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade, was held minutes before the launch of the Overseas Filipino Bank where he spoke.

The meeting was an “offshoot” of an incident  that transpired in an airport.

According to Duterte, based on the television report he saw on Wednesday night, a couple complained of losing their baggage from the airport, which he did not name.

He said the lost baggage eventually turned up, but it was obvious it had been opened, and some of its contents taken.

“Sinabi ko kay Tugade, a similar incident and all of you go. Look for another job. Be sure na walang zipper (ng bag) na mabukas yan,” Duterte said.
