DOTr hails Clark airport guard for returning wallet containing P182,000

(Eagle News) — The Department of Transportation on Friday, Jan. 18, lauded a guard at the Clark International Airport after she returned a wallet containing almost P200,000 which she found in the airport premises.

Citing a report from Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) President Jaime Alberto Melo, the DOTr said Lorna Brinosa, 39, found the wallet with P182,000 in cash on the floor of a nearby light post at the landside commercial area of the airport terminal.

She turned over the wallet, which was apparently left behind by a passenger at the airport’s greeters’ area on Jan. 1, to airport  operations officers, who then listed the money as a lost and unclaimed item.

“We commend the honesty of Ms. Brinosa as other persons of lesser character might have kept the cash since the wallet has no ID of the owner,” Melo said.

“We further assure passengers of Clark Airport’s strict policy to immediately turn over or return lost or abandoned items to their rightful owners,” he added.
