Detained Senator De Lima seeks legislative furlough

(Eagle News) — Detained Senator Leila de Lima on Tuesday asked the Supreme Court to allow her to attend the Senate hearing on 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos on Thursday.

An advisory said De Lima filed the urgent petition for a legislative furlough at 8:43 a.m.

De Lima is facing drug cases in several Muntinlupa courts in connection with her alleged role in the drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison when she was justice secretary.

She is currently detained at Camp Crame.
