DENR plans next move against company that exported garbage from Canada

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is planning its next move against the company that exported garbage from Canada.

The DENR found out that Chronic Plastics, a consignee of Chronic Inc., an Ontario-based plastic exporting company, already moved out of its former offices in Valenzuela City.

The Manila Regional Trial Court already ruled that Chronic Plastics should shoulder the expense of sending the garbage back to Canada.

“The DOJ (Department of Justice) wants the local importer to comply with the order of court so nag-file ng motion for compliance. That motion for compliance has not been acted upon,” Environment Undersecretary Juan Miguel Cuna said.

“So ang iniintay natin na ma-compel ng korte na mag-comply itong importer to send it back to Canada,” he added.
