Dagupan City in Pangasinan placed under state of calamity

(Eagle News)–Dagupan City was placed under a state of calamity on Saturday, July 21, due to heavy flooding as a result of the heavy rains.

Ron Castillo, research and planning officer of the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), said in an interview over radio  dzBB that several barangays were already flooded.

These were Bacayao Norte; Bacayao Sur; Barangays I, II,III, and IV; Bolosan; Bonuan Binloc; Bonuan Boquig; Bonuan Gueset; Calmay; Carael; Caranglaan; Herrero Perez; Lasip Chico; Lasip Grande; Lomboy; Lucao; Malued; Mamalingling; Mangin; Mayombo; Pantal; Poblacion West; Pogo Chico; Pogo Grande; Pugaro; Salapiñgao; Salisay; Tambak; Tapuac; and Tebeng.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that a low pressure area has turned into a tropical depression.

Seven areas were placed under signal number one as of 11 a.m.
