Reuters — “Coco,” a colorful animated adventure into the land of the dead, is set to take the top spot at the North American Thanksgiving weekend box office from Friday (November 24) through Sunday (November 26).

The Disney/Pixar release, which follows a boy who accidentally finds himself in the land of the dead during the Mexican celebrations for Dia de los Muertos, is expected to take 51 million dollars in its opening weekend, according to studio estimates published by BoxOfficePro.

Superhero movie “Justice League,” the latest installment from the DC comics stable, is predicted to drop to second place, taking an additional 47 million dollars.

“Wonder,” starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, about a young boy navigating his way through bullying and acceptance at school, is set to earn an extra 29 million dollars.

Disney-Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok,” starring Chris Hemsworth, is expected to add an additional 17 million dollars.

Rounding out the top five, “Daddy’s Home 2,” starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, is predicted to add roughly 12 million dollars.
