4.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off Surigao del Sur early Saturday

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Saturday, Jan. 27. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that shook the province on December 2, 2023, hit at 5:58 a.m. The epicenter was 128 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan. The depth of focus was 29 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.  

4.1-magnitude earthquake hits Surigao del Sur early Thursday

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Thursday, Jan. 25. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 3:57 a.m. Its epicenter was 65 kilometers northeast of Cortes. The depth of focus was 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off Northern Samar

(Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Northern Samar on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 10:38 a.m. The epicenter was 49 kilometers northeast of Mapanas. The depth of focus was six kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

PHIVOLCS warns of increase in seismic activity at Bulusan Volcano

Alert Level 1 still in place (Eagle News)–The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has warned of an increase in seismic activity at Bulusan Volcano. (Eagle News)–A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 4:04 p.m. The epicenter was 11 kilometers northwest of Tingloy. It had a depth of focus of two kilometers. 4.2-magnitude earthquake strikes off Eastern Samar

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar early Saturday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 4:21 a.m. The epicenter was 26 kilometers northeast of Hernani, while the depth of focus was 10 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:47 p.m. Its epicenter was 114 kilometers northeast of Lingig. The depth of focus was 14 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Sunday, Dec. 31. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake which hit at 8:52 a.m. was an aftershock of the 7.4-magnitude quake that hit the province on Dec. 2. The epicenter of Sunday’s quake was 94 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan. The depth of focus was 17 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
