Cam files grave threats charges vs PCSO’s Balutan

(Eagle News) — Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam filed grave threats charges against the agency’s general manager Alexander Balutan, whom she accused of being behind the alleged threats she has been receiving since she revealed the conduct of a lavish party in the agency.

Cam filed the complaint before the Mandaluyong Prosecutor’s Office.

Cam alleged that the first threat she received was on December 27.

She said on that day, for the first time, her assigned security personnel were told to deposit their firearms to the guard on duty in the lobby.

“At sinabi pa din ng aking mga pulis na hinanapan nila ng memorandum o kautusan ang sinasabi ng guard na si Agarao, subalit wala silang maipakita na direktiba,” Cam said.

As a result, she said her security personnel told her to leave her office, “dahil may nararamdaman silang hindi magandang mangyayari.”

On December 27, she alleged Balutan’s companion threatened to bomb her office.

She said after being informed of the incident via phone call from her staff, she informed her personnel to leave the office “immediately.”

“…Ngunit habang ako ay nasa biyahe ay nakakatanggap na ako ng iba’t ibang tawag sa telepono at humahalakhak na parang demonyo at nagsasabi ng ganito: ‘Malapit ka ng mawala sa mundo,’” Cam said.

In December last year, Cam made public the PCSO’s hosting of a lavish year-end party for its employees at a five-star hotel in Mandaluyong.

She said  the agency spent P10 million for the party.

But Balutan denied this, noting that the PCSO “only” spent P6 million.
