Bureau of Immigration: Chinese fugitive wanted for economic crimes to be deported

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Immigration will deport a Chinese fugitive allegedly wanted in China in 2016 for economic crimes.

In a statement, BI spokesperson Ma. Antonette Mangrobang said Jiang Yabo, 36, will be flown to China when the agency gets all the necessary clearances.

Bobby Raquepo, head of the agency’s Fugitive Search Unit, said the summary deportation order was issued against Jiang on October 27, 2016, or two months after he was placed on the police’s wanted list in Nanjing, Jiangsu province in China.

It was the Chinese embassy that sought the BI’s help in locating Jiang, who was arrested as he was about to send off his parents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Monday.

“He has been blacklisted and banned from re-entering the Philippines,” Mangrobang said.

According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, Jiang has had his passport canceled by the Chinese government.
