BI: American fugitive arrested in Dagupan

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Immigration has arrested a US citizen who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest in his country.

The  BI said on Wednesday that Larry John St. Clair, 45, was nabbed by members of the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit in Dagupan on January 20.

The agency said St. Clair had an outstanding warrant after he violated the terms of his release.

The BI said a California court convicted St. Clair for possession of a firearm, and for manufacturing drugs, among others, and sentenced him to 64 months in prison.

He, however, became eligible for parole after serving several months.

“He (St. Clair) is the first 2018 casualty of our relentless campaign to flush out wanted foreign criminals using the Philippines as a sanctuary to evade prosecution and sentence for their crimes,” BI chief Jaime Morente said.
