At least 6 killed in Paranaque fire

(Eagle News) — Six people–four children and two mothers–were killed in a fire that hit a residential area in Paranaque on Wednesday, May 9.

Authorities identified the fatalities as Marie Joy de Jesus, 27, and her children Jomari Canaria, 6, and Daniel Luis Canaria, 10; and De Jesus’ aunt  Ana Donna Agrasada, 26, and her children  Jake Angelo Amata, 3, and Jake Amata, 6.

According to Senior Insp. Wilson Tana, Paranaque fire marshal, the fire hit the structure in Barangay Tambo where the two families lived past 6 p.m.

The cause of the fire, which was put out past 9 p.m., has yet to be determined.

Around 50 families were affected by the blaze, which also destroyed at least P50,000 worth of property.
