Aguirre: No order yet for PAO to stop autopsy on alleged Dengvaxia victims

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre on Monday, February 5 clarified that he did not order the Public Attorneys’ Office to stop its autopsy of the 14 alleged Dengvaxia victims.

“I have no order to stop the autopsies,” Aguirre said

This statement came after the call from former Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral to stop the PAO from conducting the autopsies because of the result of the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital expert panel on the 14 cases which PAO is also investigating..

Aguirre, however, said that he welcomed the call of Cabral on the autopsies being conducted by the PAO.

He said Cabral and her gorup should give their “written position to us why the autopsies should be stopped.”

Meanwhile, Aguirre ordered PAO and the NBI to submit the results of their investigation this week, as he maintained that he sees no problem with the PAO probe.
