Aguirre laughs off Trillanes allegation that DOJ setting stage to absolve Kenneth Dong

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre laughed off the allegation of Senator Antonio Trillanes that he is laying down the scenario that will absolve controversial trader Kenneth Dong from charges involving the entry of Php 6.4 billion worth of illegal drugs from China.

Trillanes on Thursday, August 17 said, “Secretary Aguirre is setting the stage to absolve Paolo Duterte’s good friend/partner, Kenneth Dong, in this P6-billion shabu controversy.”

Aguirre’s response to this:

“Amusing. I had a good laugh when I read it. We could all use the comic relief he provided”,  said the Department of Justice secretary.

Aguirre also said that Trillanes should join the showbiz industry claiming the senator was a good storyteller.

“Since Senator Trillanes is into story writing nowadays, perhaps he should also tell all concerned and responsible media practitioners where he is hiding the self-confessed media killer Arturo Lascanas, the man who had admitted killing media man and radio anchor Jun Pala. Now that is a story worth telling,” Aguirre said.

Aguirre also clarified his earlier statement that Kenneth Dong can be made a state witness in the controversial illegal drug shipment case.

“While it is true that I said that there is a possibility for Mr. Dong to be a state witness, I also said that it will all depend on the determination of Mr. Dong not appearing to be the most guilty. Such a fact has yet to be established,” Aguirre said.
