Acting Chief Justice Carpio condemns killing of judge in Camarines Sur

(Eagle News)-Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio on Wednesday, June 13, condemned the killing of a Camarines Sur judge on Tuesday, June 12.

In a statement, Carpio said he condemned “in the strongest terms” the killing of Judge Ricky Begino of the Metropolitan Circuit Trial Court of San Jose-Lagonoy.

Begino was shot by one  Wilfredo Armea in the judge’s own house in Barangay Sta. Maria, Presentacion town, around 5 p.m., police said.

He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but died later in the day.

Amea was arrested in a follow-up operation.

Carpio called on the authorities to “take the necessary steps with all deliberate speed to do justice for Judge Begino by fully investigating his killing.”

I extend my condolences to Judge Begino’s family, he said.
