Abu Sayyaf releases kidnap victim in Jolo, Sulu

(Eagle News) — The Abu Sayyaf  released another kidnap victim in Jolo, Sulu on Monday, May 21.

The victim, who was not identified,  was released around 8 a.m., according to the Joint Task Force Sulu.

The release came after four other people were released by members of the kidnap-for-ransom group.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday, May 19, personally turned over to the Philippine National Police the P02 Benierose Alvarez and P01 Dinah Gumahad to PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde in Davao.

The two had been released to the Moro National Liberation Front in Barangay Buanza, Indanan, according to the PNP.

The group still has nine captives, the military said.
