61 cops vaccinated with Dengvaxia seek hospital treatment for body pain, others

Symptoms felt “may or may not be related to vaccine,” PNP hospital official says

(Eagle News) — Over 60 policemen who were administered the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine had to seek treatment in the hospital after complaining of body pain, among others.

But Philippine National Police General Hospital chief Senior Supt. Reimound Sales clarified that the symptoms felt by the 61 policemen as of March 1 “may or may not be related to the vaccine.”

Apart from body pain, the policemen complained of fever, cough and colds, Sales said.

He said the policemen–who were administered Dengvaxia under the government’s national vaccination program—were being monitored so far.

A total of 1,319 policemen  were administered the vaccine at the National Capital Region Police Office; 297 at the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao;  12 at the Aviation Security Group; 388 at the Special Action Force; and 934 at the PNP-GH.
