(Eagle News) – A magnitude 5.1 quake shook Albuera, Leyte, with a depth of only five kilometers and with its epicenter five kilometers northeast of this Leyte town.
The strong shallow quake occurred at 6:26 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, and was felt at intensity 5 in Ormoc City and in Albuera. Leyte; at intensity 4 in Pastrana, Leyte; and at intensity 3 in Tacloban City and Palo, Leyte.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said aftershocks could occur in the quake area.
