2 of 4 people caught on CCTV video in Jolo blasts site surrender to police to clear their names

(Eagle News) — Two of the persons who were caught on closed-circuit television camera in the vicinity of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel prior to the blasts have surrendered to authorities.

The two, however, turned themselves in reportedly to clear their names.

The police has said one of the three individuals caught on CCTV was a member of the Ajang-Ajang group, a faction of the Abu Sayyaf group.

The incident, which killed at least 21 people and injured several others, took place after the Commission on Elections deemed ratified the Bangsamoro Organic Law, which aims to replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with a more autonomous Bangsamoro.

The police has said, however, that the ratification has “definitely” nothing to do with the incident, which was a “plain terrorist attack.”
